Dog Sitting & Dog Walking Information

What is your application process?   We begin with a telephone consultation where we provide a needs assessment and recommendation based on your schedule and your pet's normal daily routine, energy level, breed, age and personality. We then schedule a time to come and meet you and your pets in person, make sure we know where all of the supplies are, answer any questions and offer any advice we can for new dog owners. If you wish to join the Day Camp program, we may bring a dog along to screen your dog for socialization skills and assess their ability to join the program. CAC is often the first call a Member will make when they have a question regarding their pet and we gladly offer our expert advice on everything from what dog food to feed to assessing a health condition.
Will I meet the pet sitter/walker?   Absolutely!
How many dogs do you sit/walk per session?   We provide a personalized service, so when we are caring for your pets they have our complete and total attention. Our Doggie Day Camp program offers a social environment where your dog can socialize and play with up to 10 other dogs and return to their "roots" with a true pack experience. Our dog walking services are individual to each Member - so whether you have 1 dog or 4 dogs - each session is dedicated to your dogs. We do also offer the "play date" option if your dog lives nearby another Member we can arrange a play date - what we call the "Club Session."
How long will you sit/walk my dog?   Our average mid-day walking session is 30 minutes. Day Camp starts at 9 am and finishes between 2 pm - 3 pm weather permitting. Our pet sitting service allows for longer visits - we try to spend as much time as possible with each pet in our care. We also offer the option to have a CAC Pet Care Professional stay in your home to care for your pets.
Do you offer upgrade options to extend the walk/sit time?   As the mid-day time slots are in high demand, we can only offer longer sessions as the schedule permits. However, our Day Camp option provides up to 5 hours of companion time during the day and is a great option for the social canine. To give your pets the same comfort they have when you are at home, our Sleepover Service is the ideal upgrade when you travel and cannot take your pets along and is a great alternative to vet or traditional kennel boarding.
Can I request off-hours sitting/walking session? Is there an additional fee for this?   We operate 365 days per year. We have a holiday rate for nationally recognized holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving.
What is your cancellation policy?   We require 24 hours notice of a cancellation for a walk or Camp session. However, our rule of thumb is that as long as we get your cancellation before we get to your home, a credit will apply to your account. "No Shows" are charged anywhere from 50% to 100% of the service fee at our discretion. During peak seasonal times, like holidays and spring break, pet sitting services require two weeks cancellation. Otherwise 48 hours courtesy is requested for Pet Sitting cancellations.
What do you do when my sitter/walker is not available to walk my dog?   We have suitable staff to ensure that all of our Members' needs are met at all times.
What do you do in case of emergency?   We take immediate action. All CAC staff are versed in pet first aid. We assess the situation and if there is any doubt that your pet's health is in danger - we ensure that your pet is attended to promptly by a veterinarian. Should your pet require emergency treatment, we immediately take him to the vet and will contact you while we are in route to communicate the situation. We will stay in touch with you throughout the ordeal to keep you up to date on your pet's condition and act as your proxy to ensure your wishes are carried out by the attending veterinarian.
Do you have a vet on call?   We have long-standing personal relationships with 4 local veterinarians and there are 3 emergency veterinary clinics in our area.
Have you ever had any incidents with your clients, such as property damage?   No property damage has ever been caused by a CAC Staff Member. We will do whatever it takes to get to your pets in an emergency and have even been asked to climb through windows for Members to get to their pets when normal access means have been otherwise disabled due to power outages or accidentally locked screen doors.
Do you provide other services, such as watering plants and bringing in mail?   We are a full service operation and when your home and pets are in our care, we not only water plants and bring in the mail, but we also alter lighting to make your home appear "lived in" and will meet deliveries etc.
